Email

Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - They may not be the same dominant Yankees, but they brought some intimidation with them to Target Field tonight in the first of a 4-game series.

13-time all-star Derek Jeter playing in his final series against the Twins at Target Field.

Chris Parmelee doing some damage in the first, he extends his career best hitting streak to 13 games, with this RBI double to right in the first, Parmelee would be tagged out trying for third.

Phil Hughes saved his worst start of the season for his old team, Carlos Beltran takes him deep for a 3-run shot in the 5th, Yankees go up 3-2.

A couple batters later, Zelous Wheeler, no relation to John Wheeler, I think, makes his first hit a memorable one, putting it into the Twins bullpen to make it 4-2 visitors.

Yankees star rookie pitcher Masahiro Tanaka lived up to the hype, he gets out of the 7th, thanks to this double play line out.

Tanaka earns his major league best 12th win of the season, 7-4 the final.
