Miss North Dakota has send-off party before heading for Miss America pageant
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A local woman is headed off for the experience of a lifetime - representing North Dakota on a national stage.
Miss North Dakota Jacky Arness of Fargo had a send-off party tonight before she heads off to Miss America.
She showed off her talent - singing - and some of the outfits she'll be wearing at the pageant in Atlantic City.
One is for the "Show Us Your Shoes" Parade - hers is inspired by the "black gold" oil boom in the Western part of the state.
Jacky Arness/Miss North Dakota: "Such a limited number of people get the chance to say that they competed at Miss America and that they got to be Miss North Dakota, so I feel very humbled by that. So, I'm very cognizant of that, and just thinking about how this is such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
You can tune in to Miss America, September 14th, here on WDAY.
