Minor Flooding in the Red River Expected
With the significant rain amounts in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota this past week, soils and terrain have become extra saturated. Some areas have recieved 1"-4" inches of rainfall over the past three days. According to the National Weather Service, this amount of rainfall should put the Red River in minor flood stage in the next 24-48 hours. At 11:15 a.m., the Red River was at 17.5 feet, where minor flood stage begins at 18.00 feet in Fargo. It is expected crest at 18.8 on Friday.
