Hornbacher’s kicks off annual Cherries for Charity fundraiser
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's cherry season again and that means it's also time for the 32nd annual Cherries for Charity fundraiser.
This week all six Hornbacher's locations in Fargo-Moorhead are hosting the F-M Cosmopolitan Club to raise money for those affected by domestic and sexual violence.
The grocery store chain donates 25 cents per pound of cherries sold to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and the Cass-Clay YWCA.
If you stop by the stores this week, you can try a free sample of the Washington Bing Cherries.
Kathy Robley/F-M Cosmopolitan Club Cherry Committee: “We'll offer you a sample. They're super, once you try one, you'll have to buy at least one bag. And it goes on all week. We'll offer them in lugs or whatever we can do.”
Since 1982 the Cosmopolitan Club has sold over 1.2 million pounds of cherries and raised almost $340,000 for charity.
