Oregon (WDAY TV) - Friday night's the night Laura Roesler has been waiting four years for.
The former Fargo South standout will take to the track in about an hour's time to run in the 800 meter final at the NCAA Track Championships.
Roesler has been close in this race over the past two years, 5th in 2012, a 2nd place finish last year.
She says she has about 35 family members that will be in the crowd on her home track in Oregon.
She has the fastest time in the country in the 800 and when was asked yesterday about dealing with the pressure heading into tonight.
Laura roesler/ Favored to win 800m Run Tonight: “Tomorrow's a big deal and for me personally, that will be me just achieving a goal. I can't get too caught up in one race. It's not going to define me as an athlete. I've had a great year, so, tomorrow's just going to be a big race and there's going to be plenty more to come after that. I've done the whole four races in four days for a couple of years now. It's a big race every day.”
The winning time last year was 2 minutes point zero six.
The 800 meters goes at 7:20 tonight and will be televised live on ESPN U.
