Fill the Boot campaign bringing in money in Grand Forks
Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - Grand Forks firefighters are spending the day raising money for an organization they've partnered with for 60 years.
Firefighters from Northern North Dakota and Western Minnesota raised more than $79,000 last year for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
And they hope to continue their high contributions. They say the Grand Forks community helps make campaigns like Fill the Boot so successful.
Darren Schimke/President of Grand Forks Firefighters: “It's such a warm welcome from the people as they walk by and they see what we're doing and we have our fire boots in our hands asking for donations. They're always willing to dig in their pockets a little bit.”
Firefighters will be collecting donations until 6 p.m. at Hugo's.
