Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - We're in the thick of the legion baseball season, and Fargo Post 2 looks like it will be a contender to repeat as state champs.

Post 2 is 7-3 in the statewide standings, and the boys in red have won 5 of their last 6. And in that stretch, Post 2 has limited opponents to 2 or less runs, 4 times.

Coach Luke Rustad says the team fought through some struggles early on, but they're heating up now.

Luke Rustad/Post 2 Head Coach: “We've been a little inconsistent in the beginning of the year especially with the bats. I felt the last few games or so we've got a little better. Our hitting is starting to get better and more timely. No matter win or lose our team has showed up and played hard every game.”

Seth Tollefson/Post 2 2nd Baseman: “First game we hit pretty well then we kind of got cold but that goes along with the season. Other than that we kind of hit our stride. We went on a little bit of a winning streak so I think we're playing pretty well right now.”

Post 2 is at home Tuesday night, hosting Williston in a double header beginning at 5 o'clock.
