Fargo Fire Department adds “rescue pumper” to fleet
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Fargo Fire Department has added a new truck to its fleet.
This "rescue pumper" is part fire engine, part rescue truck, and the only one of its kind in Fargo.
They bought the nearly $480,000 toolbox-on-wheels to keep up with the needs of the growing community.
Fire fighters say the extra rescue equipment on board will come in handy.
"In the front bumper of this truck we have the jaws of life. A bigger, heavier-duty tool than we carry on some of the other trucks. So, they can do a lot of the bigger stuff and a lot of things faster,” says Fargo Fire Department Captain Eric Eisenlohr.
The truck also has features like a rear view camera and light tower for nighttime emergencies.
