Driver crashes into light post on Veterans Memorial Bridge

2 / 2

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Veterans Memorial Bridge between Fargo and Moorhead will likely be short one light post for the next few months.

Around 7 Monday morning, the driver of a truck lost control and leveled a pole on the eastbound lane of the bridge.

The driver was not injured, but was arrested for driving with a revoked license.

Unlike a standard metal light, the decorative post will take longer and be more costly to replace.

Jason Gion/Fargo Streets Dept. “They have to be special ordered. They run around average, I'm guessing $3,000. So we have to order it and it'll take probably 6 months to get a new one in.”

Crews said a driver crashed into another pole on the bridge last December.
