Construction on 25th Street in Fargo
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Starting Tuesday you can expect big delays on a major thoroughfare.
For the next six months, DOT will be overhauling part of 25th Street South in Fargo.
Almost 30,000 cars travel through here every day and Tuesday we'll be seeing a lot more florescent orange blocking much of the road.
The project will expand the lanes on the bridge over Interstate 94.
The Department of Transportation aims to finish the $14.8 million construction by this November.
But in the meantime you can expect lane closures and shortened turn lanes and part of 94 will even close this summer during bridge construction.
DOT encourages commuters to budget your time.
Kevin Gorder/ Assistant District Engineer: "My advice for folks is plan for extra time. If you need to be there, give yourself some time. You know, ten or fifteen minutes may not be too far out of line for additional delay for this corridor at certain times."
DOT is planning many lane and interstate closures after rush hours or overnight.
