Come Home to Atlanta Church Service in Ulen
Ulen, MN (WDAY TV) - A century old church in a small community shuttered its doors more than a decade ago but it sprang alive today.
The Atlanta Lutheran Church in Ulen held an annual service for about 100 people.
The community holds the service, because of another annual event, the Turkey Barbeque, which brings people to town.
They've had as many as 175 people turn out in the past.
It's a good chance for lifelong members to relive their spiritual past.
Bruce Tinjum/Lifetime Atlanta Lutheran Member I was baptized here and I was confirmed here and I was married here. Chances are I'll be buried here. Hope not for a while.”
Coming up this Saturday the church will be put to use again, for a wedding. The groom's great grandparents were members.
