Bison Football Ticket Prices Sky Rocket On Secondary Sites
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Tickets for Bison football games are going for nearly 5 times their face value on some second party sites.
Ticket for Bison Football games went up for sale August 1st at 8:00 a.m. and were all gone 5 hours later.
But, now second party sites are selling those tickets for ridiculous amounts of money.
Nick Pederson/ Bison Football Fan: "It's pretty crazy, I mean it kind of reminds you of tickets for the Metrodome you know, back for the Vikings not the FargoDome here at NDSU."
Jason Flieth/ Season Ticket Holder: "I wouldn't spend too much 'cause I mean every seat in the dome is great, but I just... Unless, maybe the Montana game."
The most expensive home football ticket this year was the Bison versus The Montana Grizzlies. Single game sideline tickets were being sold for $45 on NDSU's site. But on sites like StubHub standing room only tickets for that game are going for $150.
Pederson: "$150's a little steep. I mean maybe a little less than that, but I'm kind of on the fence if I'm willing to pay something like that for tickets."
This is the third straight year single-game tickets have sold out for an entire season on the first day, which is surprising to some fans.
Flieth: "There's a lot of band-wagoners that have jumped on the last couple years so I'm actually surprised they sold out this fast this year. I was expecting a lot of people to drop off."
But, the demand for tickets this year is still there with reserved seating for Bison games on sites ranging in price from $100 to nearly $300 dollars for the Montana game.
Pederson: "My brother and I were planning on going to the Montana game this year. He's a Griz, I'm a Bison, but with the current ticket prices I'm not sure we're going to go."
Which is the case for many die hard Bison Fans this year.
NDSU Athletics says additional reserved and standing-room-only tickets may become available at 8 a.m. the Friday's of game week.
