Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A local hero's family is in desperate need of your help, and you can do so Friday night.

Mike Sylstad, a West Fargo firefighter and member of the FM Ambulance team, had triplets with his wife Brittany in April.

They were three month premature. Two of their babies, Olivia and Ainsley, have passed, leaving their brother Brenner fighting to stay alive.

He's expected to be in the hospital until September. A benefit for the family is being held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.

Michael & Brittany Sylstad/Benefit Recipients: “The outpouring of support has been absolutely incredible. I can't tell you how grateful we are for the support. There's no thank you enough.”

There will be a silent auction, baked potato bar, bake sale, raffle and live entertainment.

It's also BYOB, and if you drink too much, the West Fargo Fire Department is giving courtesy rides home.
