The McKenzie County Sheriff's Department is asking for help finding a 48-year-old woman. Sandra Leist has not had any contact with family members since early Sunday. She was driving a maroon 2005 Chevrolet Suburban, with ND license plates KDS 490. There is a heart sticker in the center of the rear window. Authorities are also looking for an iPad or cell phone that may have been found in or around Williston.
A judge in a South African court has set the maximum prison sentence at five years today for double-amputee Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius in the killing of his girlfriend on Valentine's Day 2013. Pistorius also got a 3-year-suspended sentenced for a firearms violation.
Cleanup continues around-the-clock - one year after a pipeline break spilled more than 20,000 barrels of oil in farm field in Tioga. The massive spill from a Tesoro pipeline was discovered by a farmer last fall. The spill has been called the worst in state history. Tesoro and the state Health Department say it may be at least another year before the cleanup is completed. Only about 6,000 barrels of oil have been recovered. Tesoro blames a lightning strike for the rupture.
A former Kiester, Minnesota man who licked his fingers and poked a Mankato police officer in both ears pleads guilty to disruptive intoxication. 24-year-old Riley Swearingen assaulted the officer with a move known as a "wet Willy". He spent three days in jail after prosecutors charged him with assaulting a police officer with bodily fluids. His blood alcohol content was point 18. Swearingen will pay $77 in court costs.
