Kasi Geyer and Krystie Crawford are the founders of Drive Your Ride. A company that picks people up when they've had a few too many and brings their customer and their car back home.

Kasi Geyer/ Co-owner, Drive Your Ride: "The idea was inspired from a company in Fargo and I guess since I'm from the area I figured it could use it here and during the summer time especially."

Krystie Crawford/ Co-owner, Driver Your Ride: "We just know there's a demand for it here. You know, we'd like to see D-L safer and people be able to go out and have fun."

The ladies work Thursday through Saturday from 8:30 'til 3 a.m. Over the holiday weekend though, they're opening at noon and taking reservations...

Crawford: "I think people like having reservations and knowing that they can be picked up at this time."

The girls will do pick-up's from as far away as Pelican and Cormorant Lakes. And their prices are a flat fee. $25 for Detroit Lakes, $35 for Frazee, Callaway, and Vergas area and then $45 for Pelican and Cormorant.

But they want to remind the public they aren't a taxi service.

Crawford: "A lot of the times people will call and ask, you know, 'we just need a ride, we don't need our car' and we have to explain to them that we are not a taxi service though. You can't ride in our car."

The ladies also won't drive motorcycles or cars without a proof of insurance and don't allow any alcohol in the vehicle. But will take as many people that can fit in the car safely.

Geyer: "I think it's great for couples or friends that want to go out, you know, instead of having to decide which ones got to stay sober. It's like oh, you guys can all drink and then you have a DD at your service."

On the 4th the ladies said they had around 10 to 12 people reserve a ride... On a typical non-holiday weekend they have about 6 or 7 a night.

To reserve a ride with Drive Your Ride call 218-841-1302.
