Grand Forks smoke shops will not allow cigarette smoking

The council plans to allow smoking at only the Cigar and Hookah lounges.

Originally, owners feared their businesses would be forced to close. If the ban goes into effect, both don't think business will improve too much because they have unique products. Even though they can allow smoking, the owners say they will not allow cigarettes.

"Hookah smoke is very aromatic and it's a different flavor different smell if you light up a cigarette in here you can smell it right away it will just cut through the flavors like tropical mango and others you have in the air."

The council will discuss the ban next Monday.
